Many pathways exist for children to become successful adults and citizens. At Dominion Youth Inc, our character building efforts encourage civic engagement and youth entrepreneurship programs. Entrepreneur opportunities help the youth build character and support the community. Seeing how others live and thrive shows windows of what could be and how we are intertwined as a world. Our children have next which requires an understanding of others, the world, and their talents.
Join us as we support our neighboring communities through book drives, school supply donations, clean up, and volunteering. Come with us as we navigate new worlds of Civic Engagement and Entrepreneur programs. Our character building efforts activities are perfect to round out college applications, military endeavors, job searches, and political aspirations.
Typically, students know of the traditional employment paths. We at Dominion Youth Inc. introduce business creation and ownership as an option with our youth entrepreneurship program. Our character building efforts delve into the market need, product and service solutions, business operations, and how to become profitable. Have an idea for a business or just want to understand?
Students Build Character with Civic Project
Dominion Youth students are focused on "more than academics and basketball." In June, students organized a community clean-up day for Jenkins Youth and Family Village. Community members joined the youth and assisted with trash pick-up, removal of broken furniture, painting, organizing, and clean-up. Assisting the community helps to build character.
Entrepreneurship of Car Washing
Students were able to learn car washing skills from Marion Johnson (MJ) - a 17-year-old entrepreneur. Marion shared with the students the ins and outs of correctly washing and detailing a car. He taught students about scheduling, website development, customer service, and proper communication. Students were impressed because MJ started his business.

Entrepreneurship of Shoe Restoration
During the summer program, students were able to learn about entrepreneurship skills. They participated in a shoe restoration workshop. Community members donated several pairs of used gym shoes. Mr. James taught students how to restore them and make them available to sell to the public. Students were also able to bring in their own pairs of shoes.
Youths learn valuable character building skills to start a business and how to interact as an individual and a team member.
