Play for a Purpose 2026 was a meaningful afternoon dedicated to play, connection, inclusion, and community. What began as a simple opportunity to bring families together through sports has continued to grow into an event that creates space for conversations, shared experiences, and meaningful connections.
Hosted by Dominion Youth Inc., this year’s event brought children, parents, caregivers, community leaders, local organizations, volunteers, and supporters together at PickleRage in North Charleston.
Throughout the afternoon, families enjoyed pickleball, connected with community organizations, listened to personal stories and experiences, and had opportunities to learn more about resources and support available within the community. With a focus on children’s mental health, autism acceptance, family support, and inclusion, Play for a Purpose 2026 was about creating a welcoming environment where families could come together, participate at their own pace, and feel connected.

On September 12, 2026, Dominion Youth Inc., in partnership with the Tri-County Exchange Club, hosted Play for a Purpose 2026 at PickleRage in North Charleston, bringing families and community members together for an afternoon of pickleball, meaningful conversations, family connection, and community support.
This year’s event focused on children’s mental health, autism acceptance, family support, and inclusion, providing an opportunity for families to play, connect, learn, and access valuable community resources.
While pickleball brought participants together on the court, the conversations and connections throughout the event were equally meaningful.
Families enjoyed quality time together, connected with community organizations, listened to parents and caregivers share their experiences, and learned about resources and services available to support children and families.
Dominion Youth Inc. extends its sincere appreciation to Raphael James for serving as our featured speaker and sharing his personal experiences and perspective with our community.
His willingness to share his story contributed to meaningful conversations surrounding family, autism, mental health, and the importance of support and connection.
We are grateful to the organizations, vendors, volunteers, community leaders, speakers, and partners who contributed to the success of Play for a Purpose 2026.
Their participation helped create a welcoming environment where families could connect with resources, build relationships, learn from one another, and enjoy time together.
Thank you to everyone who made Play for a Purpose 2026 possible and for being part of the Dominion Youth community.
We look forward to continuing to create meaningful opportunities that empower young people, strengthen families, and foster supportive connections within our community.
PLAY. CONNECT. SUPPORT.
